Some people deserve to die, some don't

I read this article from The Straits Times with extreme dismay:

Indonesia failed to sound tsunami warning

I'm sure all of you know about the second round of tsunami that reached Indonesia's shores on Monday afternoon. The world is already crippled with typhoons and cyclones and earthquakes and tsunamis and volcanic eruptions and everything and funds are going everywhere trying to reach everyone who needs them. This is yet another time that Indonesia met with such a tragedy, the first time being on the Boxing Day of 2004. And yet we have irresponsible people who gives retarded excuses to situations when less casualties could be involved.

You know why?

I'll tell you.

Jakarta
No warning was sounded that a deadly tsunami was headed for Java's shores because officals withheld a regional alert and Indonesia had no working buoys in place.

When the waves finally smashed inland on Monday afternoon, they left over 340 people dead and 510 injured. Some 200 people were still missing yesterday.

Science and Technology Minister Kusmayanto Kadiman told reporters that Indonesia did receive bulletins from the Pacific Tsunami Warning centre and Japan's Meteorological Agency after the earthquake, but "we did not announce them".

"If it (the tsunami) did not occur, what would have happened?" he said, without elaborating.

WHAT THE HELL!!!

I'm fucking pissed la.

How can such a person be a minister?? He don't have the basic moral ethics can?

PLEASE LA, THE REASON WHY YOUR NEIGHBOURS WILL WARN YOU IS BECAUSE THEY HOPE THAT YOU CAN TAKE ACTION RIGHT? YOU THINK THEY SO FREE TO COME AND WARN YOU? IT ISN'T FUN TO BEGIN WITH, YOU KNOW?

The coast of Pangandaran is filled with villagers and hotels there are small ones, hence you know that technology there is lagging.

I am thankful that the meteorologists from Japan and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre are responsible people.

Haven't Indonesia learnt its lesson from the tsunami in 2004? Almost the whole Aceh province was submerged and the death toll was very very very high!

It's as if the officials received warnings about the tsunami and what they did was to save their own lives.

F****!

We have so many people dead, like 530 plus (as of updated news) and the number still climbing and more than 270 injured, what if that inhumane minister immediately evacuate the people from the coast? I think he'll still have time to save as many people as possible! You are part of the leaders of your country is not just to live in luxury can? I wonder what is your motive to be in parliament! You could've saved the whole coast, saved every single lives in Pangandaran, including the birds and cows and bees! We could have zeroed the number of the victims!

These bodies deserve to be alive

ARGH!! I'm frustrated why the Indonesians deserve all this kind of natural disasters. And the people who can help directly, don't help! Pissed!!!

Can someone just sack that irritating minister? And punish him!

And now I'm frustrated because I do not have good vocabulary to be able to criticise the minister strongly. He is sinful, he is. He could've helped! Really! President Yudhoyono is already very busy with so many affairs! That's why we need the ministers and members of parliament and the like!

It's like how would meteorologists in the region be bothered to warn Indonesia in time to come?

Yes, Indonesia's detection buoys are not in work yet, that's why it should be more reliant on help and warnings from others!! Then what? Wait for your OWN buoys to be up and working? How many people could have died from such an attitude? Trust warnings ok, they're not called warnings for nothing.

About the tsunami: The undersea earthquake was caused by movements at the intersection of the Indo-Australia plate and the adjacent Eurasia plate, on which Java sits. The affected area is the Pangandaran beach and its surroundings. Pangandaran beach is in Java. The earthquake tipped the Richter at 7.7 which sent approximately 3m-high waves crashing to the shore.

You can view pictures about the tsunami here, but please be prepared. Not all are consumable sights.

May all the casualties proceed to Heaven peacefully, if there ever really exists such a place.
