Gaying around

On the day of cycling, Cedric and Daniel had some time to spend with each other. They were very happy that time.

I don't know why, maybe Ced's girlfriend was busy and he couldn't get her attention and Dan was sick of his scandal for a moment.

Went out today

While Daniel and company were cycling at Pulau Ubin today, I went to the temple. I was rather worried about them partly because a local DJ fell pretty badly recently.

I heard some music coming from the main hall of the temple, I went to 万佛林 today. What I thought was CD-played music turned out to be a live band. Whahaha. The live band had a keyboardist, strings and woodwinds. What I meant is, monks were the musicians, they were on the keyboard, erhu, dizi and suona. And it was live music! Haha. They were positioned at a corner of the hall and the point of the keyboard was to provide the bass line. They played the same parts, and they amazing thing was that they were playing contemporary songs. Like those popular Chinese songs in the 90s.

There was a parrot there who enjoyed my brother's company.

If you notice the latest picture, the bird almost had its eyes closed. I guess it was really comfortable.

After the visit to the temple, I went back home, watched a bit of the telly and came out again to meet MJCSB people.

Ate at Ajisen, hey I quite like what I ordered today - Crayfish Ramen. Nice leh. Sweet and mild spicyness, and the crayfish was rather fresh. Just that I don't really like the preserved vegetables in the ramen.

Felix had wanted to meet at noon so that we could happily talk more. So we decided to meet at 1pm, and Felix reached at 2pm. Thanks.

And Jie Ying found that her life was a bit too long so she decided to irritate me today -_-

After eating we went around Tampines Mall and Century Square to jalan-jalan. I've decided to act cute and buy the personalised stickers with the Lion King prints. So I think I'm gonna get them tomorrow. Though I dunno what use I have for them. Whahaha. $5 for 120 stickers, expensive, but personalised and they're printed with The Lion King characters!

We also had fun at Toys 'R' Us. I saw the newest Monopoly set. Damn modern. But it costs a bloody 69 bucks.

The best place in the toy store - Animal Alley. Other than the occasional lion plushies, we get to have fun there too. I saw some rabbit ears and... ...

Felix is a model in Playboy
And he rides a horse
An attempt to contaminate Felix's phone

Saw a lion there and its price tag was already orange, but I still think that it is not worth a buy. I should go get the bigger lion at Toys 'R' Us VivoCity.

Hong Wei had to go back as he had to book in, so we all followed him to Pasir Ris and went shopping there. Saw damn cute lions laaaa! Today was like lion-hunting.

This lion's tail could be squished to make those squeaky noise. I think it's verrryyy cute
An adorable one

Today is Lion Day for me because my sister video called me this afternoon and showed me a lion that she saw in Bugis and she asked if I wanted and it's damn cute. Hahhaa. Buy one get one free, so she got one animal for herself and she got one for me toooooooooooo! Yeay! Lion No. 38 is coming!! Though I'm not sure if I left out any lions. Ha, too many already.

OK, enough of this lion frenzy.

Raining lions and elephants

Went for the interview at YPS yesterday morning hurhur. Then realised that my working hours are from 0800 to 1700. Pay is therefore $6.35/hr. So sad. Haha. Never mind la.

I think the interview wasn't really an interview, it was more like a chat session with the vice-principal. I guess she was quite excited that ex-students do come back etc. So chatted a bit with her and a teacher whom I can't really remember.

The VP asked me who was my form teacher in Pri 6 and my-oh-my I forgot. Whahahhaa. I saw Pin Ting, a good friend in primary school, today. So from her I remembered my form teacher as Mdm Rohaiza (or was it Ro'aiza). Whaha. I only remembered my favourite teacher I think. I didn't really like Mdm Rohaiza whahahahhaha. And my favourite teacher is still in YPS! I doubt she'll remember me, I wasn't so much of an impression last time. But I remembered going to her place as a class and had fun.

Back to the point, I couldn't give the VP an answer. So the teacher, the VP and I talked a bit about the school at my time.

Things changed toooooo much. The block where we had lessons was long gone due to renovation, and there are like, 7 storeys in the block plus a lift. The present general office was where the staff room was. I remember going into the staff room to find my Girls' Brigade teacher-in-charge like all the time. Hahaha. 'Cos I was very 'enthusiastic' about helping out that time. Muahaha. Even the canteen changed! It was no longer the way I remember it to be. Sighhhh.

Never mind, I'll just be good and sit in the office doing typing all the time. Hope I won't fall asleep though. Heh heh. I'll walk to school on Monday. Last day at UPS tomorrow.

When I went to school yesterday morning and there was a mild drizzle. When I came out, it was pouring. Like the Guy up there was really pouring pails and pails of water down. And I got soooo drenched (I had an umbrella), it was no way I could go back to UPS to work. So I went back home to change. Also to get my tuba mouthpiece which I forgot.

So I got a new job, byebye UPS, hello YPS.

But I think I'll return to UPS the next holiday.

'Better opportunities'

After some time working in a human resources department, I learnt the many reasons why people want to resign from a certain place. The main reason is 'better opportunities'.

That'll be my reason too.

Whaha.

'Cos the officer from Yumin Primary School (FYI: my primary school) called again today and she offered me the admin job there. The thing is, my contract at UPS is supposed to end today however they need to extend our contract for two more weeks.

Let me compare between working at YPS and UPS.

So it is quite obvious that working at YPS is a far better deal. The thing is, it is still not known if UPS will increase my pay, but unless they increase to $7/hr which is impossible, I'll go to YPS.

At first I thought that if I go to work at Yumin I may be able to go home for lunch, but alas for the amount of time I have for break. So I still have to spend for lunch.

Moreover if I end work at 5pm, I'll be able to walk to Tampines MRT station within 20 minutes and take the train to Buona Vista and if I don't wait too long for bus 95, I'll be able to make it on time for band practices on Thursday. And there are a lot of places around Yumin for me to get some dinner. Yea.

Tomorrow's the interview for Yumin, hopefully I'll pass it and they'll agree to my 'terms and conditions' haha. 'Cos I'm always quite a troublesome employee due to my commitments.

I hate to part UPS 'cos the other temps that are working with me are rather 'entertained' by my crap, and the ladies and gentlemen at the department are nice and humourous people. But I guess I should be going back to UPS Region HR again probably in the following holidays if no internships come into place.

Hopefully everything goes well!

Post-cycling

Piangs. Whahahaha.

I woke up to sore muscles. Whaha. This is what I get when I haven't been diligently exercising for donkey years.

My hands are aching, my arms are aching, my shoulders are aching, my back is aching.

Ironically my legs are perfectly fine. Whaha. Too much strength on my upper body.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

Singapore Food Expo 2007

Food, glorious food. When will Singaporeans get sick of food?

I went to the Food Expo with my parents just now, and we spent probably over $50. -_-

Spent on promotions, sauces, etc. And Anything & Whatever.

... ...

My ass was like a free-to-shove-around tool. People tsk-ing at each other, stepping on one another's toes, screaming of kids, 30 cents herbal tea, lelong-lelong, aunties pushing you to one side to try the samples.

Well, what is there to see, you may ask.

You can see this, trust me.

Wheeeeee.

Woke up early today to go cycling!!!

Heh, if some of you still not know, I can't(couldn't) cycle.

Met Cedric, Daniel and his scandal, you-know-who, at Pasir Ris Park today. Whahaha. Xin Hui brought her bicycle there.

I can cycle quite a distance without stopping now! But I can't turn nicely, I can't really cycle past obstacles. Had to stop when people walked past, and when the three of them tried to be some kind of obstacles for me to pass through, I almost hit all of them instead. Whahaha.

Heh. Sense of achievement. The award is the warm wind against my face. Woots. Heh. Completed the module today, the next module will come soon! Whahahaa.

Thanks to the three of you =)

Results results results

I almost forgotten about my examination results that were released just now at 7pm. Checked it.

Disappointed with a couple of modules that I thought I'll do better, but well...can't be helped.

Hope I'll do better next round.

Quote of the Day

Are you a music major?

No, I'm a math major. But I play like a musician.

Muahaha.

Movies

The third installation of several movies are/will be showing at cinemas recently, like Spiderman 3, Shrek 3 and Pirates of the Carribean 3. So far, I heard that Spiderman 3 wasn't nice, and I read the Life! section of the papers yesterday, where the film correspondent and critic Ong Sor Fern awarded only two stars out of five for Pirates, saying there were too much computer-generated scenes. Ahh. Boring boring. Especially when Singapore is prominently featured in this film. I-forgot-who told me that Shrek 3 is going to be boring as well, because of several reused jokes.

Spoiler lurking below.

I finished watching Little Miss Sunshine a few weeks ago and oh my, what an irritating show. The family in this show was a problematic one, where the father had a terrible attitude and he works as a motivational speaker. He kept using his so-called techniques-to-success at home and my, he really pissed me off. Obviously his techniques weren't working. The mother didn't cook, and dinner time was mostly chicken from fast-food restaurants. Her brother was a very prestigious scholar who was gay and he tried to kill himself. Her son's dream was to be a pilot and he decided to not talk until he gets to become one. So for more than half of the show, he had no dialogue. He looks like Paul Twohill. So he was rather emo. Next, the grandfather of the family. He was kicked out of the old folks' home he was in because he was taking drugs and wouldn't quit. And he kept on fighting with his son who will use his 'techniques' against the old guy. The youngest daughter. No comments. Ok, maybe one. She is rather abnormal.

How I think of the story of the show? Well, quite a nice and comfortable story, but I rather you people watch for the amusement of an exaggerated family. The movie is funny, but irritating at the same time.

Views

I remembered clearly the night when I read the news about the 8 year-old boy who was knocked down by a reversing truck on Tuesday afternoon. I walked by the accident site 3 hours later that evening, oblivious to the tragedy that happened that day.

Today I went to Eastpoint for lunch with fellow colleagues and when we wanted to get Sweetalk, I turned around to look at the accident area again, and at the spot where the boy died, there was a plate of offerings. It consisted of oranges and the like. So I told my colleagues about it, and after that when I turned back again, the offerings were gone. =\ All of a sudden. I didn't see anyone take it, but of course someone did. I was just spooked la. Haha.

Really feel for the boy's death on that fateful day when his aunt decided to buy something from Old Chang Kee and decided to take a route that they rarely take. That was how the boy got knocked down. I wondered how come they didn't notice something as big as the truck, and wondered how come the truck was reversing there and the driver didn't notice the boy and his aunt when he should be alert for passers-by.

~~~~~
I was reading the news and having dinner at the same time just now, while my dad was watching Variety Big Brother, a Taiwanese variety. Sometime into the show, there was a contestant who was belting out a Hokkien song. He sang only two sentences and the entire performance was cut (obviously by the Singaporean media. The next thing you know, you hear him thanking the audience and them clapping for him.
In relevance to this, months ago there was a primary school which had senior citizens from an old folks' home to teach them dialect. Clips from the lessons were happily shown to the news audience in the evening, and the kids from the all-girls primary school were saying they found the lessons enriching.
These two actions that were shown through the media were obviously contradicting each other. Why cut the parts from the variety when the government want to expose the kids of today to use more dialect, in order not to let the dialect go extinct? Why show the part where one was singing a horrible rendition of Yesterday Once More? They never seem to cut the parts where the Taiwanese were using bad English.
What irony.
~~~~~

I got back my Nokia 6280 today! There were plans for the phone to be traded-in after it is fixed, however when my phone got back into my hands again, I don't wanna part with it! Whaha. After two weeks of using the Sony Ericsson K610i, I prefer my old phone better. Functions that I usually need are avaible within a click of the phone and I think my Nokia is much more user friendly. I doubt I have the cash to get another phone anyway. So I'll stick to it for another year =)

And the repair cost me a bloody $80. T_T

~~~~~
Ah, talks about work. Heh. My colleagues and I were supposed to have slack time today, since there wasn't much work for us to complete recently. We're already done with the project we were employed for. In the end, there was a last-minute huge job that we had to complete.
We had to call employees of the company who haven't done a certain survey, and not only the local employees, but because the HR department that I work in is a regional one, we got to call employees from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Australia and Taiwan. I was in-charge of the Australian list, one-third of the HK list and one-third of the local list. Calling the Austrailians was quite terrifying, I felt a bit pressurised as I was afraid they wouldn't understand my English (I only had to call two Australian men). In the end I only managed to contact one of them. Whaha. He spoke damn fast.
Calling the locals were fine, just that Singaporeans being Singaporeans, when you haven't done something, you'll just find enough excuses to shun it. I got reasons (valid or not) that I didn't know how to rebut. People were on leave, travelling, preparing for their wedding etc. And they had to go online to do the survey. Thank goodness they were cooperative enough.
The Hong Kongers made me extremely frustrated. You ask me why you got to do the survey when the employees of the entire international company got to do the survey. I don't know the reason why you gotta do the survey! Oh please. Super irritating people. I'm asking you to do a compulsory survey politely which will only take you ten minutes to complete and you're there yelling your voices off.
It was pretty amazing to speak to someone else from another country and I could hear the endless chatting in Cantonese in the background. Ha. I was imagining how the scene was like at the other end of the line.
One thing I learnt today: How to make 001 calls from Singapore to overseas.
Stay over at Joan's
(Almost) The seven of us stayed over at Joan's place on Saturday through Sunday. 'Almost' because Jing Yi came on Saturday but she was too tired due to work and went back home on Saturday night. So Shun Wei, Hui Ying, Shi Hui, Annie and I spent the night at Joan's place. Heh. Dinner was pot luck, so all of us had to bring some food over. Food, glorious food. Joan cooked a lot! Thanks girl.
I just realised I didn't eat Shun's nuggets at all.
And for some reason we didn't take pictures. I didn't bring my camera, no one bothered to take a photo in any way. Our first stayover lehh. Whaha.
Anyway, Joan bought and cooked Swedish meatballs and sauce from Ikea, on top of that, she cooked pasta and cream sauce and tomato sauce for the pasta. Great right! Ha.
Hui Ying made pie without pastry. This means something like instead of flour, potato is used. So what you get is those minced meat and vegetables topped with cheese (woots) and a thick layer of potato. Wa, damn nice leh! I made something like this before in secondary school, but it was only a thin pie. Hers was like.....about 6 inches thick? And the cheese was like....waaaaa. Haha.
Siew Hoon made lots of sandwiches, got egg, ham and cheese, tuna (or was it chicken whaha) etc.
Shun fried nuggets! Which I didn't get to taste. I think she brought something else. But I can't remember. Sorry!!
Jing Yi bought the roasted chicken you can easily get from supermarkets, whaha =P
Annie bought drinks and chips.
I made agar-agar!
At first I felt guilty 'cos I was imagining the rest of the girls will be making lots of better food and I was only bringing a dish of agar, and thank goodness I didn't make another dish! Whaha. There was just too much food for us to complete. The food lasted us from dinner to breakfast on Sunday.
One for home, one for the girls. Pretty right? Whahaa
So clear so pretty~
See the reflection on the surface
The longan
Anyway, about my agar-agar, whahaha, I think it was quite nice just that the sugar content wasn't enough. Hurhur. Not to push the blame but my mum put the sugar and she told me it was sweet enough when I told her I think it was bland. My brother also said it was bland but he likes it bland so ok lo. When the agar set and I tried, no taste one. Whahaa. The agar-agar is actually made from longan and red date drink. I used the drink as the stock for the agar and it turned out quite fine la =) I think I'll make this again. Tastes better (and more special =P) than the usual agar-agar.
Entertainment-wise at Joan's place, I think Siew Hoon brought the Monopoly for nothing though I'd rather play that than watching the movies. We watched 300 first. Piangs. Worst movie of the century. Whaha, no laaaa. I felt irritated by the movie because it was either filled with murmurs or battlefields -___- And I didn't know what the hell was going on throughout the show and it got REALLLLYYYYY boring. The worst show I've watched this holiday. And then Joan's brother took out Scary Movie 4. It was hideous but funny. So at least I felt more alright after watching it.
I should've said I wanted to play Monopoly. Whaha. A vvverryyyy long time since I last played it.
Went to bathe, then chatted a bit with the girls in Joan's room. And a while later we slept. Haha. Wasn't that used to sleeping in a confined space whahaha. I couldn't even turn properly and woke up when I hit Shun who was sleeping beside me. Hahaaa. So throughout the night was just waking and sleeping and waking and sleeping. Muaha.
Next morning was trying to finish the food that we brought. Whahaha. Then we played a bit of Mall Tycoon 2 which wasn't that fun haha and went home.
Hopefully we can do this more than once a year. =)
Speechless
This is sooooo wrong. Usually I'll come online and I'll blog endlessly.
Now I come online and I have nothing to say.
Oh dear oh dear. This isn't good.
MY LIFE IS BORING!!!!
No posts!
Wow I haven't been blogging for quite some time already. Muaha. Work has been quite tiring, I haven't really gotten used to waking up bright and early =P
Got blisters on my feet, because I hardly wear my shoes and heels. There's a dress code at UPS, so I can't wear slippers and wear anything clothings I like. So I'm facing a crisis.
Sighhhhhhh.
~~~~~

Just came back from Joan's place, the seven of us stayed over at Joan's for the night and it was quite nice la. Haha. I think it was the first time that we actually spent a lot of time together.

No pictures taken. =C

~~~~~
I emailed to schools in the vicinity along with my resume and applied for admin asst positions. I emailed East Spring Primary, Ngee Ann Sec, Yumin Primary (my primary school!) and Hai Sing Catholic. In all, only East Spring and Yumin replied. The former has no positions for an administrative assistant. The latter called the other day but they needed people to start immediately and I'm stuck at UPS. So too bad lo. =C
I don't mind a not-so-high pay when working at East Spring/Ngee Ann 'cos I can walk to the schools in 2 minutes and 7 minutes respectively, so I can come home for lunch. Transport and meals saved! Heh. But too bad la. Maybe I'll try again next holiday.
Tired eyes and shows
I just completed 1 Litre of Tears.
A few more pieces of tissue paper, but I didn't cry at all at the last episode. Could be because I was having dinner and watching it at the same time so was kind of distracted. Well maybe one day I should watch it again, but not so soon.
While watching the show, I felt a kind of pitiness. For myself. Like how I'm spending my time, my life, and whether I've been appreciating the things and events and especially the people around me.
I had/have chances to love, unlike Aya; I have chances to run around (though I don't), unlike Aya; I have chances to do good for others in various ways, unlike Aya; I have chances to write, type, speak, sing a merry tune, and do many many things I took for granted. Unlike Aya.
I am not a person who is good and wise enough to appreciate what I have completely, I'd be an odd out from this society. 'Cos hardly any normal person will stand at a spot, look at the sky, and appreciate and smile at how wide and blue it is. Singaporeans walk too fast to be able to appreciate something as such. I want to love myself, love my own life, love what I have. But I just can't do these wholeheartedly.
~~~~~

A whole day's work and a few hours of sleep were toiling me today.

Don't have the habit of sleeping early.

Been looking at data, verifying them, then make notes with my sleepy eyes. I pray that there are no errors! Thank goodness I can take the transport starting tomorrow, so I can happily sleep more.

I have a novel to complete by Friday, two DVDs to complete by Thursday. And I have tired eyes to entertain. I doubt I'll be able to finish any of those, considering I have band practices on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Oh dear, all those travelling to and fro. Argh.

Compassion among other things

I'm now at the 10th episode of 1 Litre of Tears. Maybe I have been expecting too much, and heard too much of Aya's condition that I didn't cry inconsolarably while watching the show. I look at scenes which I thought I'll usually cry but I merely stared at the screen.

I feel an ache though. I don't know if it's due to my recent troubles or it's because of sympathy towards Aya.

I think I ought to read the book instead. 'Cos I look at the characters in the show, they seem too surreal. The show is fictitious and based on the life story of Aya but I felt that the show should be made real enough. Ah well, maybe I just lack compassion and sympathy and awe for her courage and strength to live on.

In fact in the entire show, I look forward to the end when you can see pictures of Aya when she was alive. And I just take the show as it is, tear when the part really made me wanna tear.

Perhaps I've been watching too many weepy shows lately, that's why.

Verdict so far: Two pieces of tissue.

~~~~~
Anyway, I went to the agency to sign the contract and tralala I'm starting work in 8.5 hours. It's an admin asst job at UPS. (Only) $6/hr. So I gotta find ways to earn more if not I'll really face a crisis. The contract is till the 29th of May but extendable depending on my performance. Oh well, if you see my contract being terminated after two weeks, you'll know how my work attitude is like. I somehow pray that I'll not get terminated 'cos it's so hard to get a job, and I still pray that I'll get terminated so that I'm able to get a better-paid job.
Work is till 6pm, and I'll surely be late for band, considering the peak-hour journeys. Ought to ask if I can get off earlier on Thursdays.
Gotta wake up at 0615 T_T
~~~~~

Bought the Korean serial 'Be Strong! Geum-Soon' for my mother for Mums' Day. Shared with my brother of course. But I don't know how to ask him to pay up =P It cost a bomb. $79.20 for the entire set. I decided to buy because my mum seems to like the show a lot. She only watched a few episodes and stalked all the advertisements of the show on Ch U and she could already give me a brief synopsis of the drama. -_- And she even told my sister about it, so I just went ahead to buy it. And I wrapped it up. Muaha.

When my mum first saw it, she thought I bought essence of chicken for her -_-

And she opened the present and when she saw the DVD she was like 'Aiya!!! Don't waste money!!!' Then my brother said 'She's blushing. Means she likes it.'

Sigh.

I'm kind of irritated that my dad stopped the subscription for the Straits Times. Now I feel weird waking up in the morning with no English newspapers to accompany me for breakfast. Sooo many years that we've been subscribing, I had the habit of munching away while reading newspapers. Therefore...I had been pretty slow in getting to know the latest news. I don't like to eat breakfast in front of the computer with the ST website loaded. It just feels different that you're not reading the hardcopy.

=(

Anyway, I got a bit down, I don't know why, due to the deaths of two NSF killed in Taiwan when a jet crashed into the storeroom they were in. One just turned 24, the other was 19. So freaking young. Means the 19-year-old guy, 3rd sgt Isz, is as old as me. I just can't imagine how hurt their families will be. Sighhh. Though I don't know them but I got rather emo. 3rd sgt Isz was from AJC and was Amy's fellow councillor back then. It's like...I dunno. Feels very weird. Feels so close. Life is really unpredictable. Sigh.

Movies-not-so-marathon

I watched three movies yesterday, not at a go though. I watched The Queen in the morning, followed by half of The Sound Of Music, then in the evening I watched 200 Pounds Beauty, and at night I watched the rest of The Sound Of Music with my mum who started first.

Must-watch: The Queen and The Sound Of Music.

Warning! There may be spoilers in the following. So don't read if you don't wanna know.

The Queen: It's nice! Very political, and gave me more insights into the operations of the Royal family and Blair after the death of Princess Diana. Though I don't know if it's true. Haha. I didn't know that the Queen disliked Princess Diana. Oh and I recognised the actor acting as the Queen's husband was the farmer in the movie Babe. Ah, I miss that adorable show. Anyway, at that time Blair was elected Prime Minister (his wife is quite a bitch in the show) and right now Blair is going to step down within a year. Haha. And the actor for Blair looks like Blair. Scary. Muaha. And Prince Charles was quite a prick and pussy. There was mention of Camilla Parker Bowles. But The Queen is quite a short movie..like approximately 1.5 hours only. Watch this only if you're interested.

200 Pound Beauty: Kind of regretted watching the show -_- because...I don't really like shows that are quite superficial. I saw the trailer and was interested because it looked cute, but the movie was rather not well done. It's humourous and there was inclusion of relationships like
love, friends, and a father-daughter relationship. I like the last two best.

The Sound Of Music: It is a tiring show to watch if you're tired and do not want to sit for 3 hours in a row in front of the telly. Yea the show is 3 hours. I rented the show because I thought it is an oh-so-pure show meant for kids, so the show will just be about beautiful singing. I didn't want to watch any shows that has got man-woman love and all. Well I should've checked. The musical contained relationships and ended with a dark note. =\ The first 2.5 hours were beautiful, you see smiles almost all the time, there were baddies of course, but they were rather harmless like what you see in cartoons. And then bloody Hitler and his Nazis had to come in and make the entire movie scary and thrilling. And that stupid Ralph! Argh! An example of those young boys who make promises they can't keep to girls. Disgusting. I think the Germany intrusion of Austria in the show was really quite scary.

Something interesting

Recently the Canadian Brass organised 'Do The Canadian Brass' where people can imitate the Canadian Brass or do a spoof or whatsoever. Quite interesting, but I haven't seen all the videos in there yet.

狼狈。

This was how I felt for the whole of today. Today began as a terrible day, worser than I thought it would be.

Slept at 2 a.m. plus after packing my stuff in hall then went to sleep. But I haven't finished packing actually. Don't have enough bags and paper bags for storage. Nevertheless I slept.

Then I woke up at 5 a.m. plus because I wanted to go for the JC band SYF. In fact it was a heavy rain that woke me up, not the alarm clock nor Jie Ying's wake-up call. Prayed that it would stop raining after I finish bathing and before I leave hall. In the end it just kept on pouring.

So I had to bring my only (yet favourite) umbrella, a gigantic one, all the way to SCH. I don't have those smaller kinds. =C And along the way out to the bus stop there were puddles of water that dirtied my feet. T_T

Waited for bus 10 for quite some time and I was late already. Got a bit pissed off, and finally the bus came. Trotted up the bus, laid my ass on some nice seat, and hoped that I'll reach SCH asap. In the end there was something wrong with the exit doors of the bus. Bloody hell. It would not shut and I got extremely irritated. So it was practically at every stop the bus driver had to push the button to close the doors but to no avail. He then asked alighting passengers to alight from the front doors, so it was fine. Until apparently he forgot and opened both doors at a bus stop and no one got up and neither alighted. Argh. And he pushed the button in a way that you could hear the click click click and shortly after it became banging. -_-

Got to SCH slightly longer than usual, and when I got there a queue was forming and I queued quite at the back. Saw Kai Ling and Hui Zhen in the middle of the queue, then I decided not to cut the queue and be a good girl. I could've cut Daniel/Xin Hui/Jie Ying's queue. Because they were first in queue. -_- And then I thought about it. I think I won't be able to get inside. And so I trotted up front to join KL and HZ. Heh heh heh. And then I heard some news that I really don't want to hear and don't want to know. And that thwarted my day a bit more. Sigh.

People in front cut the queue and when it came to ticket distribution, Kai Ling got her ticket and ta-daaa I was left without a ticket. Bloody hell, damn pissed la. T_T Even if I'm born unlucky why am I unlucky to that extent. Sometimes I just tend to want to be good and considerate but I end up being disadvantaged. And finally luckier for me, they distributed more tickets and I managed to get in.

During intermission Jie Ying etc. didn't want to stay anymore, so I spoke to my juniors and roamed around for somewhere to sit. Thankfully found a seat beside Pui Leng and so I stayed for the second part of the AM session.

Badly wanted to go for the PM session as well, because I wanted to watch SAJC - or actually, to watch Glosz in action. Really wanted to know how 'great' he can get. Wanted to hang around from 1 p.m. till 2.45 p.m. so that I can get a ticket. Then Daniel etc. wanted to go for lunch and not stay for the PM session =C And I don't know where to go so went to the hawker centre with them - in the end, only Daniel.

It was lunchtime, therefore the hawker centre was damn crowded. Finally found seats and during eating I dropped my phone. Didn't think much of it that time, since I've dropped my phone a couple of times. So when I took out my phone from the pouch, it was like this.

I got a shock and prayed that it'll be fine after I turned it off and on again but it was still the same. Whined to myself and was rather worried since the agent called this morning and she won't be able to contact me then. =C Went back to SCH by myself since Daniel, Jie Ying and Hui Zhen were going for pool and I wasn't interested. Felt so lonely la. Like nowhere to go no one to find like that. And it was like I had to 'ask' people to take me in. =\ So 狼狈。

Sighh. Neh neh.

Then I was the only one around left without the PM tickets out of all the people I knew over there. Till I found XH so hung around with her for a while. Then I took a cab to Suntec to find Sam for a standby phone and got his Sony Ericsson K618i for a while...till I get my phone fixed. Another part that I felt sian because I only go find him when I got a problem. Of course I apologised to him about that, but I think he didn't mind. On the condition that I go out with him next week. OK then.

Anyway, I went back to SCH hoping that I could go inside the hall for the results. I was already tired, sad and grumpy. Still couldn't get in, spoke with Hong Wei. He said I sounded troubled and he guessed 'Guy right??!' -_- And he laughed at me because Felix is using K618i too. Which I didn't know.

So I waited at level 1 with the rest of MJCSB for the results.

Got back to MJ with them, was damn tired and decided to head straight home.

But the nice things that happened today:
1. MJCSB clinched a Gold!!! Thank goodness, I thought they were going to get a silver, because there were several good bands today. Good job, kids.

2. Many staff supporters came to SCH from MJC today. Like Mr Eric Chua, Ms Pauline Choy, and of course Ms Lai the principal. They're so nice la. Haha. There were other staff too but I don't know them.

3. Mr Wong cried!!!! Whahahaaha. The second time I caught him having tears in his eyes. Whole day act so manly. In the end he can get rather emotional. And the band loves him. But he called me stupid woman. =\

4. Ms Sia finally could sleep well. Haha.

Sometimes I wonder. And I wonder and I wonder and I wonder. Why I am still troubled. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want, and when events end, move on. Why do I still feel the ache that I felt some years back, why do I still feel the pain coming over me? It was as if the air smelled of that time. I don't want to be affected but somehow I do. Maybe because I was treated differently. Especially when I was doing something and the same thing was happening at the other side. However I don't get the same response. The other side's other side did. I don't understand why things became this way, it was totally unexpected. Hong Wei also didn't understand why. No one can tell me except yourself. I feel so fucked up. I hate to hear your name from the mouths of others. Why can't I just move on? Argh. I don't want to believe that I need someone to pick me up.

I really hope that there is someone around who can really understand me. Sigh.

福到了!

I went to MJCSB's sound check today. Finally went back after months! And I met Ms Sia for the first time after sooooooooo long. She asked if I was very stressed, because "你发福了!" T_T

Die die die. I'm tipping the scales and I'm still not doing anything about it!

Sighhhhh.

Even Ms Sia also said I put on weight le. How come ah? Did I really eat that much? =P

Post-exams frenzy

To begin with, it wasn't that much of a frenzy, I just had a lot of things to do everyday that I can't seem to have time to sit down and enjoy something. Haha. And someone please please please offer me a job! I seriously need a well-paying one. Costs for the Italy trip are mounting.

Last day of exams, 03052007, Thursday
When exams ended, all I wanted to do was to nua somewhere. And so I nua-ed in E402 and watched the Devil Wears Prada, like I previously blogged. First movie of the summer holidays.

After that I went out to VivoCity for a nice shopping trip, but turned out there wasn't anything that was worth buying! So sad la, I was hoping for new clothes. I'm tired of my wardrobe and I keep wearing the same thing over and over. They don't last more than a day in the cupboard after washing before I take them out to wear again. I need new clothes! And I'm afraid I'll run out of stuff to wear when I go overseas. I didn't try anything at Zara/Topshop/Forever 21/...but I tried some bottom at Pull And Bear.....I just couldn't fit into it. =C

Left boring-and-overrated VivoCity to Plaza Singapura. Tried a top and a dress at Dorothy Perkins and hey I like both, but the dress was a bright pink and it costs nearly $70. Something I couldn't afford, so I had to let it go. The top costs as much and it just isn't worth buying them. So I didn't buy any clothes for the whole of the day.

Walked around Spotlight and bought stuff to do some handicraft heh heh. Will post pictures of my lousy work soon. Muahahaha. I think I actually spent the most time at Spotlight compared to all the other shops I went to.

I went up to Manhattan Fish Market and left my contacts there to 'reserve' a seat for 13 people. Had dinner with a group of NUSWS people =) I had some Fried platter I shared with Hui Shan and Daniel over there, and after a while it was just gorging the food. Haha. Was damn full but a lot to finish. Thank goodness for the prawns. And juicy fried mushrooms. The mushrooms were damn good la, I liked them. I actually hated mushrooms and I couldn't figure out what the thing coated with batter was so I just ate it. Turned out to be huge mushrooms (not shitake, thankfully) and they were extreeeeeeeeeemely juicy. They're about the same price as Fish & Co., but its signature Fish and Chips was cheaper. $9.90++. I think the next time my MJCSB clique gonna celebrate a birthday, we better change to Manhattan Fish Market then. Whahaha. We can't survive on Fish & Co. for almost every birthday =D

The funny thing about this photo is that I was still chewing on my food when the waiter helped us snap this shot. Whahaha. He didn't count before he pressed the shutter, so I was busy chewing away if not it'd be rather uncomfortable smiling. In the end it seemed like I was the only one who needed to chew.

After which I went home.

04052007, Friday
Went back to Sheares from home, for whatever reason. Haha. Went to job agencies before that. Haven't received any calls till today, so I'm quite worried I won't be able to get a job soon. =C How come I always have no luck with this kinda things.

Anyway, when I reached hall on Friday I went to take my last dinner in hall, and then watched Full House from 7 pm plus to..around 5am? Whahahha. I haven't finished it though. No time le.

Then talked a bit with Amy, continued watching FH, then went to the lounge to busybody the others who were drinking there and drank something like the Blue Lagoon. But it was extremely sweeeeeeet. And made my mouth alllll blue. Pui. Haha.

So far I think FH isn't a very good show, it's funny but I feel it doesn't have enough depth to the content.

Slept at around 8 am plus of Saturday...

05052007, Saturday
...and I woke up at 12 pm plus to meet my extension trip group for itinerary discussion. I sacrificed going to busybody at MJC for the band exchange, in the end Xin Hui went for that. Bo jio. =C

I felt quite lousy at the meeting partly because I wasn't fully awake yet, but also that I felt pretty useless. I don't really have much ideas like Hwee Lee did and I am rather fine with anything. So I kept quiet (yea, right) throughout the meeting and when I spoke it was mainly lame stuff that I wanted to entertain them. There was Hwee Lee and Ian, Daniel and Cedric and me. Xin Hui pang seh-ed! Whahaha.

We decided on the route Milan -> Venice -> Munich -> Berlin -> Stockholm where we will be taking the plane with the rest of the NUSWS people who extended too. Ian booked the plane tickets already!!! Heehee, one part of our trip confirmed C= But it's quite expensive la. Though still not very expensive, but I found it expensive. Whahaha. I badly need a job!!!

I'm just a bit disappointed that Lady Luck wasn't really on our side because going all the way to Stockholm for the flight is really quite a bother. I can't go to Rome, FLORENCE (whaha), and Paris as suggested before that. =C Because the return flight was initially at Rome, but I think there weren't enough space...sigh. Not as excited as going to Germany but hey, better than nothing =D Quite excited now that things are almost, though not nearly, complete.

Heh. =P

And the supposed-to-go-for MJ alumni pract..I gave it up. Mainly because I wasn't going back home, so going to Pasir Ris then go back to hall is very troublesome. Excuses, but I really didn't wanna go through all that trouble. Can't go home because my brother's friend was staying over and she had to use my room. I am quite a gao zei person, and I just didn't wanna share my room with her so I gave her the entire room for two nights. Whaha.

So I trotted (macam babi) to City Hall with Daniel to meet the rest for the Swensen's trip. So sinful. Go there for ice-cream, fattening food etc and the opportunity cost is the band practice. SIGHHH. In the end, the turn out of my MJCSB (not NUSWS, Daniel =P) section for the practice was zero. =( Hong Wei (though not my section but his presence makes a difference to Felix Yap's) had field camp, Kai Yan only booked out at night and so Felix didn't go.

I shared Chicken Baked Rice (damn nice laaa) and this new seafood pizza with Hui Shan. The pizza was not bad, it had mangoes but no raisins like the picture depicted, but I didn't do anything about it because the crew that day was quite nice. Haha. But the pizza was quite bad in that the crust was horribly done and the toppings were not evenly and nicely spread out. The verdict: Get the pizza if you have extra cash to spare. Beware of the biscuit-like crust. Hahha. I thought not much of the CBR when I frequent Swensen's so I'll always try other stuff on the menu. But the CBR is really quite nice la, but not nice enough for me to want to complete the whole serving.

When I decided that I'd go Swensen's, I really wanted to at least put some mint and rum-and-raisin ice-cream into my mouth. Whahaha, what a way to illustrate. Anyway, they didn't have anymore rum-and-raisin and only this Yummy Raisin flavour. I was quite irritated because why would I want a raisin-filled ice-cream with no alcohol? T_T We ordered Apple Crumble (actually wasn't as impressive as I thought) and Giant Earthquake. The AC was quite amazing, because the waiter came with a hot plate of just the crumble and the vanilla ice-cream on top. And then he threw apple chunks around the crumble and then when he poured the...uh, butterscotch (?) over the mixture, it sizzled on the pan and the rest was like 'wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo' and that attracted a lot of attention -_- so paiseh la. Hahaha. And the Earthquake. A repeat of our previous amazement when the waitress poured water into the pepper bottle filled with dry ice and smoke came out. Whahhaa.

Look! We're rich! Edna, Yokes Daniel is smelling the yoghurt menu I was staring intently at the pizzas. Haha Arlin Chicken Baked Rice!!! Yong Kiat, the missing boy with the brown shirt and shorts. Whahaha Woaaahhhhh Pizzalala Yokes, Edna, Dan, Arlin, Yong Kiat, me, Hui Shan and the smoking Earthquake

In the end, there was an alcohol taste in the Yummy Raisin!!!! Whahaha. And I enjoyed the trip to Swensen's because of that. Whahahahhahahaha. Gian peng Derek didn't go!!! Hahahaa. He overslept. Meeting time was 6 in the evening. He came after Swensen's though. So we treated him to the roadside $1 ice-cream.

Coincidentally while we were feasting at Suntec's Swensen's, people from the NUSWS trumpet section appeared hahaa. So it seems that 6 of the trumpeters were using their Swensen's vouchers on that day too. They topped the ticket sales, so they got $140 worth of vouchers while the tuba section at third, we got $90. Conclusion: Don't think you can eat a lot when you have a lot of vouchers. The trumpets had an outstanding of about $60 (but some rich guy belanja-ed) and we had only $42 outstanding. I only paid $6, 爽呆了. =D

After that we walked around and ended up at Esplanade. For some reason, we sat at the Foyer for quite some time. I really felt very slacked whahhaa. Looooooong time that I could sit somewhere and just chit-chat. Oh and Derek, please stop wearing your pair of PVC slippers everywhere. It belongs to solely movement in hall.

Sometimes I hope I really am not 'calculative' in a sense and just tolerate people who always 撒娇. But I seriously can't tahan girls who 撒娇 24/7 even if they're born that way. I'll just roll my eyes at them. Whhahaa. I don't understand why they've got to 撒娇 to please people and so what, who do you think you are to get everything your way? Sickening! Sigh. I hate to be one of those hypocrites. I can't tahan! OK la, I admit I do 撒娇 too but I'm sure my condition is not bad because I get ignored easily. Whahhahaa.

P.S. MJCSB clinched a Gold medal for their debut SYF two years ago on this day! =D
"Band no. 4, Meridian Junior College, Gold." "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

06052007, Sunday
Blogged about today, Ann Gee's show.

07052007, Monday
I went back to school from home for the Star Dust singing competition. Went for it because Juli, one of my kaki-s in hall, joined the competition with her friend. And they got third place!! The rankings of the group category was good. However for the solo category, I still don't think the guy should get! Liza was good, the Joel guy and the last guy was good too. Liza should get second and Sonia should get third, and one of the guys should get the top position. Dwayne is funky and jumpy and lively and a breath of fresh air I know, but he shouldn't get top place. And Star Dust '06 winner, Surath, is a damn good singer can? Whahaha, if a guy sings to me with that kind of voice, I'd just die there. Wahahha.

It was quite the first time I was doing some fan-business, like waving light sticks and shouting 'JUUUULIIIIIIIIIII' all that. And waving poster boards bearing her name. Whahaha. The judge called her Kelly then Judy then finally Juli -_- I don't know where the Kelly name came from. Juli's parents were damn cute la. Her mum was like '第一次作这种东西咧。' Whahaha and she was like quite anxious and excited and happy. They must be proud parents man, their kids are good-looking and talented people.

Juli and her friend Kevin sang....I can't remember the title. Hahaha. Some Chinese song by 刘耕宏 and 许慧欣 if I got the spelling right. And they won $300 on top of the trophy lo. Whahaha. And they were good. In fact I couldn't concentrate much because I was busy taking photos and holding the placard and light stick. Don't ask me how I managed that, I was too pre-occupied I cannot remember.

P.S. Derek I caught you in your PVC slippers at Star Dust.

Ah, the end of alllll dated postings.

Today, 08052007, Tuesday
Going for chalet at Aloha.

And happy birthday Annie How Yi Xin. May you be pretty one day. Whahaha.

Happy birthday Felix Yap. May you be thin one day.

09052007, Wednesday
Supposed to go for seniors' gathering at 3 p.m., but I decided not to and instead to go for MJCSB's sound check at SCH. I wanna go for both the gathering and sound check, but then I'd rather go for the sound check la. Too detached from the main band that I cannot stand it anymore. What business of theirs is mine, I don't know. Haha. This decision is much easier to make than the alumni pract and Swensen's one. I decided against going for the gathering the moment I know about the sound check =P

10052007, Thursday
Nothing's confirmed on this day, supposed to meet the extension trip group to confirm our itinerary and accomodation. I dunno where I can find the time to really confirm my part though.

11052007, Friday
JCs SYF. Will wake up early to go to SCH and get tickets to enter the hall and watch the entire thing. I pray I won't be going to the toilet because it may risk my chances of going back inside.

So many things, how to find job? Argh! Must really start by next Monday! T_T I want and need a jobbb!!!!

P.S. Yokes! Can I get photos from you?
P.P.S. I know that this is an uber long post. I am long-winded.
P.P.P.S. There aren't news about Alan Johnston anymore. Hmmm.

AG's show

Ann Gee had (has, it's not over at this time) an art show at Red Dot Design Museum, part of the Market for Artists And Designers (MAAD) show. It was quite an eye-opener for me since I haven't been to such an art show before. I didn't manage to take a picture of her exhibit. Other than exhibits local artists were selling their own work and seriously, most are worth buying.

Finding my way there was a bit of a challenge as I haven't been there before. Thank goodness the place which is beside Tanjong Pagar MRT Station wasn't hard to find. One entirely red building, how will you miss it?

Along the way while looking at the stuff there I got name cards from the sellers and artists. They're 1000000000000000000 times much better than th
e bazaars we have at NUS. They're really quality stuff and I enjoyed my time walking around there, compared to looking at almost the same products in the faculty bazaars. Woots. I shall go there again next time.

I bought this package from AG's exhibit. Some package of a magazine of her work, postcards and two stickers. Here you see her stuff.

I'll want to go there again leh, especially if I have some cash to spare. Wanted to buy one of Moof's tees that I think is quite cute, but then I didn't have enough money with me and can't really afford to buy too many things in there. I wanted to buy this pair of damn funny looking earrings from Ann Gee's friend, but I decided not to since I couldn't really afford le. $6 for the earrings, but man they're really cute.

Here are some of the stuff I got from MAAD. Ann Gee's sealed package, a magazine of the artists' stuff, and some name cards.

Do support Ann Gee! Her blog and her website.

Then how?

Tomorrow's Saturday already. And I haven't made up my mind if I were to go for practice or Swensen's.

I told them I won't be going practice. And I think I made clear that I cannot make it to Swensen's.

Then where am I going? Argh. 烦恼.

And there's a band exchange tomorrow afternoon. Wanna go...but cannot make it. Sigh. Everything just have to go against my way and whenever I'm free, I have nothing to do. And things clash.

The thing I'm (extremely, actually) pissed about is that the Swensen's vouchers are due next year. 2008. And it just has to take place tomorrow of the entire year.

Then how? How? How? How?

It's a matter of responsibility if I choose to go for practice, you see. It's not that I reaaaallllyyy wanna go, I have to travel back to Pasir Ris from hall if I were to go for practice. Sigh.

I am bloody pissed. >=(

I hope my section and Ju Ling won't be pissed if I don't turn up.

And I wonder why I am bothering to choose between the two. Might as well not go for both and I'll be a sad person.

Grr.

World's Fastest Walker

Now give yourself a pat on the back and say "I'm the World's Fastest Walker!"

Some researchers are so free, they went to time the time taken for city prowlers to walk 60 feet, that's about 18.3 metres. And apparently Singaporeans walk the fastest.
We took 10.55 seconds for that. If you hold a pink identification card, say hello.

It is reported that Singaporeans walk 30% faster than we did in the 1990s. So after calculations, we used to take 13.7 seconds to do that. Hey, that's quite a large difference. Look at this:

1) Singapore (Singapore): 10.55

2) Copenhagen (Denmark): 10.82

3) Madrid (Spain): 10.89

4) Guangzhou (China): 10.94

5) Dublin (Ireland): 11.03

6) Curitiba (Brazil): 11.13

7) Berlin (Germany): 11.16

8) New York (United States of America): 12.00

9) Utrecht (Netherlands): 12.04

10) Vienna (Austria): 12.06

11) Warsaw (Poland): 12.07

12) London (United Kingdom): 12.17

13) Zagreb (Croatia): 12.20

14) Prague (Czech Republic): 12.35

15) Wellington (New Zealand): 12.62

16) Paris (France): 12.65

17) Stockholm (Sweden): 12.75

18) Ljubljana (Slovenia): 12.76

19) Tokyo (Japan): 12.83

20) Ottawa (Canada): 13.72

21) Harare (Zimbabwe): 13.92

22) Sofia (Bulgaria): 13.96

23) Taipei (Taiwan): 14.00

24) Cairo (Egypt): 14.18

25) Sana'a (Yemen): 14.29

26) Bucharest (Romania): 14.36

27) Dubai (United Arab Emirates): 14.64

28) Damascus (Syria): 14.94

29) Amman (Jordan): 15.95

30) Bern (Switzerland): 17.37

31) Manama (Bahrain): 17.69

32) Blantyre (Malawi): 31.60

My oh my, 31.60s to walk 18 metres? Do they crawl?? No offence, but taking more than half a minute to walk 18 metres is seriously looooooooooooooooong. I bet the people there are very relaxed and...maybe, happy. Unlike us. Muaha.

Ah.

I just blogged slightly less than 3 hours ago. And I just finished watching a movie. Woots.

The Devil Wears Prada. A good show, but guys can go without watching because it may be too dazzling for them. Whaha. No la, girls will appreciate all these branded stuff more.

However, it is not a superficial show. It's quite engaging, and there are more things in life that you'll think if you have been appreciating or not. Yea, go watch people. Muaha. It's really not a superficial story.

Guess What?

Exams over liao.

Wednesday, May 02, 2007

Nice!

I like this!! Haha. Must listen. It's Joe Hisaishi and a Japanese Orchestra performing a medley from Laputa. And the video and sound don't coincide -_-

Going to be over soon

main
{
if ( exams == over )
printf( "Play-time!" );
else
study;
}

How?

Band practice or Swensen's?

Darn irritated with deciding.

T_T

进退两难。

Long time never play tuba already, and I haven't gone for MJ alumni for a loooooong time and this weekend it'll be inconvenient for me to go since I won't be going home due to some circumstances.

I wanna go Swensen's also because I long time never gather with my NUSWS section (have I actually had an outing with them before?) and I wanna eat ice-cream. Hope I go there and get to eat my rum-and-raisin+mint ice-cream. But I'm coughing and having a slight running(runny?) nose and I shouldn't eat ice-cream. Sighhhhhhh. 烦死了。

It's pretty irritating laaaa. Which one should I go? ... ...I feel like going for MJ alumni lehhh. Argh, think about it after tomorrow.

Tubby the Tuba

I forgot how I knew about this children's tale, but I found a version of it on youtube.

Tubby the Tuba. It's quite a cute show la. Go watch it since most of you finished your exams already >=P
