melbourne - day 2
woke up super early to day to have some breakfast at the hotel restaurant. food was ok, just that...a bit of a variety of eggs. then the rest like....ha. cos the hotel itself is small, leading to a small restaurant, leading to a small variety of breakfast available, but i dont know why there are always 2 trays of eggs done in different manners available. haha. nevermind.
today's itinerary was sight seeing. going to the great ocean road. if you havent heard of it, its quite a popular tourists' destination in melbourne. its a whole day sort of trip. quite looking forward, like i said, i love sceneries!
we reached duxton like half an hour too early and had nothing to do, so we took photos..i went into the toilet at duxton, its like, glam lo!!! a big difference from ramada, obviously because duxton is much larger. however the most awful thing that i didnt want to see but i still saw, were the flies.
got to try this aussie style bush billy tea while we were at this stop if im not wrong. quite a nice tea!
stopped over at apollo bay for lunch. went into this 'food court', but actually there's only one 'stall' manned by the same people. they serve in large servings. i forgot the name of the restaurant though. if you dont wanna eat you can walk along the beach and enjoy the scenery!
unknowingly i was brought to this port campbell national park. it 'houses' the twelve apostles.
the twelve apostles was really a very nice view...like you see those stone monoliths coming out of the water, ready to be taken in by the waves and wind and rain...there are supposed to be twelve of those apostles protuding out of the water, but they're going to give way soon, there's like 7 or so left standing. quickly go there and take a look before all falls.
by the way, i didnt really talk about the flies during this trip did i? they were terrible!! you see me smile in my photos. actually the flies were buzzing around me and its hard to take a picture with a genuine smile. they really spoil your mood for taking pictures.
oh by the way, at the twelve apostles, you could choose to take a helicopter ride. for A$80. due to the cost i didnt get to take. sigh.
after viewing the arch we took the coach and went to loch ard gorge...its a love story behind it, i didnt really hear the guide-cum-driver cos i was more of asleep. heh. but i know it was about some shipwreck that happened many yrs ago.
there's this flight of stairs that you can go down to view more stuff...there's a cave down there that you can go see see...but you had to walk a long route. so i went walking ahead of the rest of my family to find the stair case....and in front of me....a creature i thought was a porcupine walked past. i screamed a bit la, not those high pitched type, but that thing still not scared lo!! walked dammm slowly. later i found out its called an echidna. it practically walked from one side of the pavement to the other..like not scared of human like that...i think partly cos i was quite afraid of it haha.
i didnt take a clearer photo to show that this monolith still called the london bridge was connected to the shore...but the part collapsed so leaving this monolith standing alone in the sea. the guide said that there were 2 people on london bridge when it fell. a couple, in fact. but they avoided the media and rejected all interviews. news broke out later that the couple are married, but not to each other. see? sigh.
that marks the end of the great ocean road trip...so as we were on the coach back, along the way you see a lot of farms...roaming cattle...a lot.
reached the hotel at around 8 plus if im not wrong...the sky was dark already. i wanted to go out to some other restaurants but sadly, i was forced to stay at home and eat instant noodles. sigh. wasnt too happy about it, but yea, finished the noodles and prepared the stuff i need for tomorrow-my brother's graduation ceremony.

the coach
the structure at the background is some sort of a memorial
a nice looking expressway
this is what you see on the expressway. there're a lot of ports
grassland
cows - some of the many that i saw during this trip
the sky is so blue, grass is so green
these long grasses (i seriously dont know if they're wheat or anything) are like waves as the wind blows..very nice!! i thought i'll only see such scenes in movies
this is one of the stops we had...i think we were at this place called torquay.

the water is like a piece of fabric
no, dont look at me, look at the sky!
my parents and i
try blowing up the picture and you'll see that the water at the horizon is sparkling! (due to the sun's reflection, its a pretty sight nevertheless)
the spot in the middle is a surfer
the sky. i seriously lost track of where this is
picture perfect (just that the horizon is slanted, thanks to my skills)
i think we were at lorne. i dunno!
at the start of the great ocean road
they had houses like these on the slopes on both sides of the road
i was really here!!
a long road to go -> this adventure took the whole day
the waves arent even parallel at all. wonder where they hit first
look at the sky!!!!!!!!!!!
slopes
along the way to our next stop we got to see sort of wild koalas on the trees. look exactly at the centre of this picture
check out the red circle
this is obvious
at cape patton, duh

look at the flies on my dad's back! they just cling on to your clothes
this picture didnt succeed. we were trying to move the apostles. i wanted to move them to somewhere safer where there're less natural forces on them. i dunno where though
i wanna mmmooovvveeee youuuuuuuu
try harder, erina!
the flies on my mum's back. there were none on mine. either i smell too nice or too bad
