at genting - day 2
had to wear uniform for the acoustic check in the morning and workshop in the late afternoon today..chose to go to the workshop on breathing techniques, hosted by mr mitsuo nonami. met a number of people at the lift lobby...and we began to take photos as usual haha.
acoustics check
its nothing much really, cos just testing the sound all that. however we played overtime lo..scary leh..got 5% penalty cut if you played more than 15mins.
haunted adventure
my clique and i were walking around with the trombone section at the shopping area at the hotel..then they have this thing called the haunted adventure, like the usual haunted route you had to pass through at funfairs and human acting as ghosts will come and catch you. we played that. haha. bought a combo tix for RM30 where there's the adventure and ripley's believe it or not exhibit. workshop starts at 3, so we had time to play and see see. but unluckily when we were queueing up the lift bringing us up to the 'haunted' area had problems and we waited for quite some time. after much consideration we decided to go to the exhibit first. went up but one of the staff took us down again, saying the machine was working already.
very thrilling lo the whole adventure..felt so stupid dunno why so scared of them also haha.
ran short of time, so could only visit the exhibit at night, after dinner.
workshop: breathing techniques for wind instruments
mr nonami couldnt speak english fluently, so we had to 'telepathy' like he said..he's very humourous and amusing lo. its like when someone wanted to take his picture from the audience while he was talking, he abruptly stopped talking and posed for her! he stood straight and flashed the victory sign. so cute!
learnt quite a lot from this workshop. realised many wrong theories i was taught about breathing, however im not going to talk about this here la. haha.
i was harassed
people went different workshops, so i was split up with the rest of my clique. when the workshops ended everything were so messy cos people stayed at the area chatting. thats when we lost contact with felix (we didnt have autoroaming so we were living in historical times). searched all over for him lo! the shopping area, room, many many. but just cannot find him. i wandered around alone looking for him ma, like like the trombone people be together all that, so its ok.
was walking past the casino when this uncle came up to me and asked if i was taking part in the competition. at first thought he's just another curious guy so i answered his questions. wah piang! he must be some conman lo. he asked if i was taking part in the competition, what band i was, where my school in singapore is. quite forgot what he said...but after that he shook my hand and introduced himself as jonah. ok fine, i dunno what he was up to and had no time to spare. dont say that im thick skinned in this case, but he was like telling me when he goes to sg he can contact or when i go kuala lumpur can contact him. for what? face model lo. he was like 'very sweet looking ah you' i was so disgusted! then he asked for my height and said that i can go do some fashion model sort of thing. yuCk! i dont like to do such things la. my figure is horrendous and he dared say something like that. wanted to tell him nicely and politely that i wasnt interested but before i could finish talking he turned around and walked away. freaking scared la! alone somemore, i almost cried out. haha.
after that felix finally got to the cafe and after dinner we made our way to ripley's believe it or not.
ripley's believe it or not
there is this video during the exhibition telling us about the proportion of people who could roll their tongue this way and that. they showed you this mirror and pasted the words 'CAN YOU ROLL YOUR TONGUE?' on top. some of us faced the mirror and did. in the end towards the end of the exhibition, the mirror was actually see through. so people could see us sticking out our tongues. lucky i wasnt those who were trying. haha. so irritating lo.
quite enjoyed today =)
