at genting - day 1

im back! blogging in the stuff i wanna remember...so here goes!

the journey
reported to school at 6am. it was drizzling, and the school wasnt open yet and we had to squeeze at the bus stop..haha so funny..its like i was seeing people i met only hours ago, those j2s who were at prom and fabian. a few hours ago everyone was so glam, a few hours later make up wore off and we were in jeans and the new band tee.

siGh. im on bus A3, like not in the same bus as felix they all...at least got jieying lo, good enough. A3 was shared among haising and meridian. when the bus arrived i saw xinhui in the bus, including my juniors. and the happiest thing is that i saw mrs chua inside!!! hahaha. mr lua was on the bus too. at least i know i'd be able to quite enjoy the 7 hour trip to genting.

left and right we always see trees and plantations..we also saw the leftovers of forest fires. a bit only though



nearing genting. can feel it cos the weather was coooler
at first i thought when they say 3.8km to exit 803, it means we're 3.8km from genting. in the end its only that exit. still a long way to go

took photos with jieying, weixiong and sock leng on the bus..quite entertaining. siGh, though i didnt sleep the whole night, the bus was too uncomfortable for me to sleep properly...so didnt sleep at all. was so shagged! looked awful in the pictures...and also the pictures for the rest of the trip. haha. forgot about my own image le. doesnt matter la.

met the rest of hscband when we reached hotel first world...its a 2.5 star hotel i think..a very budget hotel. i know it you know it. saw the other senior who tagged along, filzah. and also mdm zaibon! a very motherly lady who is teacher ic of hscband. and of course, the rest of the hsc tuba section. there's tsz shan, weixiong, bernadette, chiaw hong and ziwei. ziwei seemed to be quite swayed away from the rest of the section.

ber (the present section leader) complained to me about the section...complained about how much she had to scold the juniors, including the sec 1s. i dont know how to manage things la..i think perhaps at this point of time there are a number of stubborn people in the section..thats why things cant flow smoothly and there arent respect for each other. yea i used to scold them when i was senior too, but i guess naturally they respected me in some way or the other..would admit i played a large part in bonding the section while i was still around haha. yeP. im thick skinned but thats not the point. i dont know why things turned out this way, but its ok, we'll try. dont give up!

instructions were then given out at the genting international convention centre (gicc) lobby area. collected our luggages and instruments from there.

my room
jieying and i lived in room 10 633 of tower 1. when i entered..i felt it was quite small, but cosy. however when i tried to put my tuba in.....the room turned out to be super small. when i bathed i felt claustrophobic, and had to knock my elbows against the walls. and then the hooks were just next to the shower head! how to ensure dry clothes?! my hsc jnrs at tower 2 got the better end, they had combined shower and toilet so its like one real toilet!

im so sorry jieying you have to tolerate the small space because of me. heH. but im sure she wont mind. 'jieying is a nice girl' and so they said.

opening ceremony
went to the lobby to report in order to go into the grand ballroom for the opening ceremony. after that jieying who was with her section and i was with mine kept signalling to me, kept pointing to a direction. i turned and i saw MR YEO!!! for those who dont know yet, mr yeo is some sort of an idol when i was in haising. he came to teach the hsc tuba sect as tutor...didnt like him at first, after that...waH. hahahaha. so happy to see him there. he came with chij first toa payoh.

jit sin symphonic band (penang) took part in the opening ceremony and played a few pieces. instead of appreciating music many of us were more of listening out for them to test how good this competitor is. haha.

and finally when i already lacked sleep, i got to sleep...quite comfortably, just that had no lion to hug. haha.

very happy to join in this trip, its like, got hscband, mjcsb, mrs chua, ms sia, mr yeo, and many many opportunities for me to open my ears and hear the malaysian bands. i've heard many singapore bands, but not any foreign school bands. foreign adult bands, ya then alot. 我等着机会开开耳界！我等着听没接触过的音乐。
