Updates on my lions

Went to Toys R Us at Vivo with Amy the other day and took pictures with some lion plushes I saw at Animal Alley.

They'll be mine some day

And I realised I haven't been keeping track of my lions and I ought to do them asap. So here you go.

Bad weather

It has been raining very heavily and non-stopping for several hours on end the past few days.

There was the Hai Sing Alumni Band members' barbecue at Mrs Chua's place yesterday. In order for the BBQ to go on they had to put umbrellas above the pit so that we can continue barbecue-ing the food. Due to the rain, obviously.

And yet today, the sky above Mrs Chua's was good. Cooling weather too, perfect for a BBQ.

A problematic problem

This is my 500th post.

There is a very tricky problem.

First things first, pray that I can pass my semester 1 exams.

Because if I am to fail the MA1100 or MA1102R module, I'd be in deep shit. Real deep. Choosing modules for semester 2 would be a very very tormenting task.

If I fail the MA1100 module: I won't be able to take the MA1101R module because lecture timings would be clashing. Means maybe I'll take MA2216 first and take CS1231, an equivalent for MA1100, as well.

If I fail the MA1102R module: I won't be able to take MA1104 and/or MA2216 because MA1102R is a pre-requisite for both modules.

And if I were to take the MA2216 module as well as EC2303, their exam dates are on the same day. Which can be very tormenting. And CS1231 has the same exam date as MA1104. Which means I die die have to pass my semester 1 exams.

If I fail, seems like to plan things at its optimum I'd need an extra year to graduate!!

Things are really in my way.

Results

There was a leak in the examination results some days ago, and some already checked their results. I didn't, I was watching DVD at that time so wasn't online to catch the news from some one if there is.

Well, and I know some people are pleased with their results. Good for them. I'm not and I know I won't be, even though I know nothing of my results. Such things can be judged from my performance during the papers, I can gauge where I stand. And I know of people who will be very satisfied with their results, they can go with the norm and continue their school life.

Not that I can't, but I guess I have to retake some modules and I gotta take the English module next semester. 一踏进学校，我一切都过得不顺利。What's wrong? I wished I just didn't put too much pressure onto myself, maybe then I'd do better. Gotta take six modules next sem, English included, and maybe at least one core module to retake. Oh and by the looks of it, maybe I need 3.5 years to complete a Bachelor's degree. That's half a year longer than the norm, but too bad. Don't think I'll be able to do honours year since I'm already shit in my work.

Thinking of getting the results gives me the shivers sometimes. Not that it has been cold weather the past week. Shall look at next sem's modules tomorrow, can't hold it back any longer and I'm free for the rest of this week. Finished the DVDs I rented anyway. And I should be planning different kinds of lists of modules to take for Sem 2, in case I gotta retake any module that I think I need to retake.

I feel like I'm wasting my parents' money, as well as my own time. Wished I'm more capable, and know what I wanna do. I still don't know what to do, not that I have given it any much thought. Just hope that from next semester onwards, I'll be more hardworking and not as lazy anymore.

Oh, and some people are looking into next sem's curriculum. Which is freaking me out. I'm afraid I won't be able to catch up too, but well. And planning for the whole of the university studies till honours year. Not only one person I know did that. In fact seems like quite a handful already did. Shrugs. I won't do it so soon, considering I may spend longer than the norm.

Hopefully I won't need that extra semester and still be able to cope. Stop being lazy, please.

And maybe for next semester's exams, I shall try studying at home. Time to clear up the room and find somewhere to store things. I don't have anywhere to keep my things.

Gotta go now. Going Mrs Chua's place for a BBQ. And it's raining heavily. Oh bless us.

The Notebook

It's a damn nice and beautiful story!!! It's very very touching, very sensational very sentimental. Very very very. Run out of vocabulary. The story is so nice, I cried a lot of times (I didn't count exactly how many)! I wanna read the book! Hope it's available in the library. Oh man....and then after that when I went to bed I thought of how the old Noah cried when he saw his sweetheart in pain, it aches me too! T_T It's very very nice! Worth watching for girls. Generally I think guys will find this show boring 'cos it's quite long-winded. Romantic guys should watch. =D It's very nice!!! I should watch it again before I return to the DVD rental shop.

Girls, do anything BUT to make yourself get pregnant when you don't want to.

Last night after my mum came back from a wedding dinner she told me that this cousin of mine who's still in uni, she's two years older than me, is four months pregnant. And the guy is still in uni too. They're going to get married come January, and going to have a simple buffet to celebrate their wedding. No dinners or any of the sort, because the guy can't afford it. And it's like for the full-scale wedding dinner to take place is time consuming, my cousin's tummy will be too big then. And the guy suggested to get married two years later when he's done with uni and got a job. What a bastard. You'd be having a two-year-old kid around.

Soon, I'm going to become an aunt again.

Secondhand Lions

Was watching Secondhand Lions on DVD last night (I went to rent movies).

And I think it's really a great show.

The setting is in Texas in the 1950s or 60s. Walter was sent to live with his two granduncles. The two uncles, though grumpy at first, turned out to be very cute men!!! =D hahaha.

You should watch the show if you have the time, I won't say too much about the show. But luckily I rented it. And it's worth my $1.67 for a week. Woots. A really really nice movie. Some sort of comedy, there are funny parts here and there but they aren't those brainless jokes. And the actors are very good, they really carried out the characters well.

However you won't be able to follow the show well, because there are parts which they deleted from the movie and didn't link everything properly so you'll be wondering why this and that. But in the DVD you get to watch the deleted scenes, so well, you get to piece the entire story.

I like this movie.

Well if you don't think so, DON'T tell me about it.

I like Secondhand Lions. Period.

Cats and kittens

Went out to eat with my family lately and saw this irritatingly ridiculous cat at Tampines 201 Market. We were at the coffee shop there.

It looks fine from here but... ...it's an annoyingly fat cat

Seems like the cat have been eating well though it's a stray. At least I think that it's a stray. A nice fur coat though.

I think when we reached it just had breakfast. So it was getting lethargic from staring into space for too long.

And it slept.

I think it wanted to curl up and sleep, but apparently it was quite impossible

FIRE!

This happened some time last month.

I was talking to Amy outside my door when I saw something burning at my 2 o'clock direction.

Lighted up the night sky in red

It was towards the port area at south-west of Singapore. I have no idea what it is. Went to Yi Xin's room and we went up the rooftop with her friend and saw that something is spurting out fire and not a whole sea of fire that I thought. Like instead of smoke coming out of a chimney it was fire.

After which Amy and I studied at our block rooftop and one of the seniors, Adrian, came over to take a look. He said that the flame could be because of the industries burning excess wastes like gases. Oh.

And the next morning on the front page of ST someone on the main island took a photo of it and sent it to STOMP! and so it was explained that it was caused by Exxon-Mobil's plant on Jurong Island.

So you can imagine that if we can see the fire from here, then it must be damm scary if you were on Jurong Island itself. Seems like the entire burning process took more than a day.

Areas divided

Most of you Singaporeans already know that a huge proportion of eating places divided their outdoor seats into smoking and non-smoking areas.

But even though they did, we know that in places like coffee shops some people can't be bothered. I must say, these people really really aren't considerate at all.


I went to this coffee shop in Tampines and saw this guy smoking at the table in front of me. Was utterly pissed because the fan blew the smoke from the cigarette to my side. I got even more pissed when there are empty tables at the smoking area. Bloody hell.

Go away.

(In a very fluent and dramatic tone) And right after snapping a good group photo, two bandits came from behind us and gave us a threatening snarl which made us pick ourselves up and run aside! And out from nowhere came Captain Takeshi Kang, the unidentified hero, who rescued the defenceless us from the ruthless menaces! As one of the robbers dived for the 7-11 plastic bag containing their treasures tied to Captain Takeshi Kang's bag, he pulled as hard as he could to release the robber's filthy hands from the plastic bag! And you could hear gulps and exclamation coming from the passers-by as they see the plastic bag releasing itself from Captain Takeshi Kang's bag. Oh no!!!!! And the menaces got their treasures. What the...but anyway, Captain Takeshi Kang saved all of our lives from the infamous food snatchers of MacRitchie Reservoir!!! Kudos to Captain Takeshi Kang!!
